UO Singularity Treasure Vault Info

Singularity - UO Free Shard Treasure Vault

On the Singularity - UO free shard in the player info gump there is a section in the middle that has chests and some numbers that track your progress towards your treasure chests that are awarded at the end of each week on Friday at 6pm central time and after midnight on the final day of the month. At first these systems can be a little confusing with all the numbers so the simplest explanation we can offer on this design is that the system is setup so you can always continue progress towards earning new possible weapon upgrades. You never lose progress, and you can always pick up right where you left off. See below for details on how all of this is done.

Treasure Vault Mechanics:

By JarJarIsASith
A system designed to allow you to progress on your time.

How To Earn Treasure:

  • The primary thing to know about earning progress in the treasure vault system, is how this can be achieved.
  • There are 3 primary sources for earning bonus roll percentage and roll attempts towards earning treasure vault items:
  • ICE Dungeon - clearing both minions in the ICE dungeon and helping to kill the boss will increase your chances.
  • Elite Dungeon Bosses - participating in Elite Dungeon boss kills.
  • PvP Battlegrounds - win or lose you will be able to gain treasure just by participating in battlegrounds.
  • Completing these events will give you and chance to earn chests and continously increase that chances if you didn't get one yet.
  • This progress is never lost and carries over into the next week / month if you didn't get a chest yet.
  • Most players can stop reading here, but for those of you interested in the details of this system, please continue on.

Bonus Rolls Percentages:

  • There are four different types of roll percentages that are tracked as you progress each week and month.
  • These values are viewable on your player info gump which is accessible from double clicking the middle scroll on your paper doll.
  • Each event (ICE Dungeon / Elite Dungeon Bosses / PvP Battlegrounds) will result in a weekly and monthly roll chance.

Four Types Of Bonus Rolls:

  • Weekly Current Roll %
This is the total accumulated roll chance you have gained so far this week that did not yet earn you a tiered chest.
Every time you complete an event that gives rolls this value will be used as the base for that roll plus the increase from the completed event.
For example if your current weekly is +12% and your ICE clear grants you +1.2% then your chance for that completion to earn an item is 13.2%.
  • Weekly Next Roll %
This is earned when your weekly roll earns an tiered chest but that tiered chest is NOT an upgrade. For example, if you have already earned a T1 chest this week, and your roll for a boss kill earns you another T1 chest, then this roll is not lost because you didn't earn anything, so the roll is moved into next week where you will be able to use the roll percentage again.
  • Monthly Current Roll %
This is the total accumulated roll chance you have gained so far this month that did not yet earn you a tiered chest.
Every time you complete an event that gives rolls this value will be used as the base for that roll plus the increase from the completed event.
For example if your current monthly is +12% and your ICE clear grants you +1.2% then your chance for that completion to earn an item is 13.2%.
  • Monthly Next Roll %
This is earned when your weekly roll earns an tiered chest but that tiered chest is NOT an upgrade. For example, if you have already earned a T1 chest this month, and your roll for a boss kill earns you another T1 chest, then this roll is not lost because you didn't earn anything, so the roll is moved into next month where you will be able to use the roll percentage again.
  • This might seem like a very complex way to setup a system like this but it is done for a very good reason: we never want players to feel like they are being punished for their efforts. We want to remove all scenarios where your progress towards earning items can be invalidated, and ensure players that eventually they will get rewards for their efforts.

What Happens When My Roll Succeeds?

  • When a roll is successful you then roll for level of chest with the following percentages:
  • T1 - 70%
  • T2 - 25%
  • T3 - 5%
  • Then, if the chest is an upgrade, the roll chance used to earn this chest is consumed, otherwise it carries forward into the next week after the Friday 6pm reset.

Mathematics Behind This:

  • On average, this means a player should earn a tiered item after 3-4 full clears of ICE or 10-12 PvP Battles.
  • Sometimes it will take more and sometimes it will take less.

Claiming Chests:

  • Each week and month before you claim your chest there is also a menu to select which item types you would like to receive in your chest, you can change these settings as often as you like until you decide to claim.
  • There is no time limit on when to claim your chest as well, if you go on vacation for two weeks, don't worry, all your progress will be saved and you will be able to pick right up where you left off.
  • If you don't claim by the end of the week but you have another chest you earned within the week/month, the higher of the two will be kept and you will lose the lower level chest, but this is only if you made progress in that week/month.
  • Essentially it is a "no worries" system that allows players to progress on their own time. If you didn't earn a chest in a week, you still get to keep all the bonus rolls that you accumulated the week before. One of the Singularity - UO free shard's central design principles that we follow is to ensure that players can play as casually as they like without feeling like there is a constant treadmill they have to keep up with. We know that not all players can devote dozens of hours of play each week and we want to make sure that our server is a fun place for those players as well as those who play more.
